Luis Pinillos Ashton and Carlos Vallejos Sologuren receive award at NCID 2019

Professors Luis Pinillos Ashton and Carlos Vallejos Sologuren have made major contributions to Cancer Control in Peru. Each has been Director-General of the National Cancer Institute (INEN) and Minister of Health of Peru where they have been responsible for introducing actions and policies to improve cancer treatment and prevention in Peru. This was continued by their development of OncoSalud which continues to make advances in cancer treatment and prevention.

Both Professor Pinillos and Professor Vallejos are widely known and respected internationally and their advice is frequently sought by national and international organisations. In recognition of their lifetime commitment to Oncology and oncology patients, it is a pleasure to recognise this by the award of the World Prevention Alliance/International Prevention Research Institute for their contribution to Cancer Control.
