Agreement for closer collaboration with IEO

Today, 26th November 2018, in Milan, Ing. Mauro Melis, CEO of 
the Istituto Europeo di Oncology (IEO) and Professor Peter Boyle, signed an agreement for closer collaboration.
The IEO, guided by its Scientific Director Professor Roberto Orecchia, has developed an outstanding reputation in Oncology based on a specialist Cancer Hospital with a major basic and clinical research programme. Professor Boyle has developed an international programme in many aspects of Cancer Control with a special interest in all aspects of prevention, ranging from preventing the occurrence of disease and also preventing death among patients with the disease.
The activities of Professor Boyle have focussed on the huge disparities which exist in Cancer Control globally. The recent ‘State of Oncology’ reports have highlighted these disparities. There are a number of spec
ific aims in this collaboration but the overall focus will be on extending international collaboration and helping improve the delivery of Oncological care to countries and regions at a wide range of resource levels.
