iPRI recrutes Epidemiologists, Biostatisticians and Statisticians

September 19, 2017

The International Prevention Research Institute (iPRI) is a not-for-profit Research Institute which has major international programmes in a wide variety of disease areas in chronic and communicable disease. In chronic disease, iPRI has large programmes in several fields including oncology, diabetes, oral health, cardiovascular disease, Post-Conflict Public Health, nutrition, tobacco control and multiple sclerosis. iPRI has also programmes in vaccination and Anti-microbial resistance. Skills currently available include epidemiological and biostatistical as well as in the area of Pharmaco-epidemiology and mathematical modelling. In addition, the University of Strathclyde Institute of Global Public Health@i-PRI was established in 2014 enabling qualified iPRI Faculty to hold University positions and supervise Masters and Doctoral students.

Our work has a focus on Prevention and an underlying strong interest in understanding influences on disease pathways and thereby improving prospects for prevention. A particular interest lies in understanding disparities in health and contributing to their reduction or elimination. This involves programmes in lower-resource countries but not forgetting similar situations in higher-resource countries and regions.

Due to expansion and re-organisation, iPRI are actively inviting candidates for a number of positions.

  • iPRI seeks to recruit three epidemiologists with experience in areas relevant to the iPRI programme. One of these should be highly experienced and the others may be at a senior or intermediate level.
  • iPRI also seeks to recruit in the areas of Statistics and Biostatistics. Candidates should be either an experienced biostatistician or statistician and there are positions now open for more junior candidates. These would include post-docs and candidates wishing to study for a doctorate.

Depending on the experience of the candidate, an academic position may be available within the University of Strathclyde.

iPRI is an equal-opportunity employer and offers competitive salaries and conditions of service. The current Faculty comprises scientists from a variety of countries including France, Belgium, Romania, Brazil, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Expressions of interest should be sent to applications@i-pri.org and suitably qualified candidates will be invited for interview. Candidates should send a brief (one page) biography together with a full Curriculum Vitae including a list of publications and grant awards.

Closing date for initial expressions of interest is 31rst October, 2017.
