8th National Cancer Institute Directors meeting, Lyon, 10-12 July, 2013

The eighth meeting of National Cancer Institute Directors will take place in Lyon between 10th and 12th July, 2013. As requested by participants, the focus on cancer care will continue to increase with the sharing of experience in a wide variety of resource settings underlined. Highlights this year will include: the launch of State of Oncology Report and State of Oncology in China Report; presentation of The Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria; a discussion of how to treat women with breast cancer and diabetes; a roundtable on the Value of Cancer Care for Society; presentation of current status and issues in population screening in high-income and low-income countries; the Strathclyde Institute for Global Public Health at iPRI and discussion of the need to reassess outcomes in clinical trials of cancer therapy.
