NCID 2012 attendees
The 2012 meeting has attracted a great deal of interest and several projects initiated at our previous meeting have come to fruition and the results have been presented this year.
As requested by participants, the focus on cancer care has continued to increase with the sharing of experience in a wide variety of resource settings underlined. Highlights this year have included: the launch of the World Breast Cancer Report; presentation of the Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon initiative; a discussion of how to treat women with breast cancer and diabetes; presentation of the Bayt Abdullah initiative; a roundtable on the Value of Cancer Care for Society; presentation of current status and issues in population screening; and discussion of the need to reassess outcomes in clinical trials of cancer therapy.
